What is the recipe for pie?

Here's a basic recipe for making a single-crust pie:

Ingredients:

For the Pie Crust:

- 1 1/3 cups (177g) all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 2/3 cup (153g) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces

- 1/4 cup (60ml) ice water

For the Pie Filling:

- 4 cups (about 2 pounds) of your desired fruit (e.g., apples, berries, peaches, etc.)

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1/3 cup brown sugar

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

- 2 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

Making the Pie Crust:

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

2. Add the butter pieces and use your fingertips to work them into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Gradually add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough just comes together. Be careful not to overwork the dough.

4. Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Assembling the Pie:

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch (30cm) circle.

3. Transfer the dough to a 9-inch (23cm) pie plate and trim the edges.

4. In a large bowl, combine the fruit, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss to coat the fruit.

5. Pour the fruit filling into the pie crust.

Baking the Pie:

1. Place the pie plate on a baking sheet to catch any drips.

2. Bake the pie for 15 minutes at 425°F (220°C).

3. Reduce the oven temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for another 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

4. Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
