How to Make S'mores at Home (7 Steps)
A crackling summer campfire may seem the only opportunity for enjoying a gooey s'more, but you can enjoy these treats at home any time of year. Traditional s'mores feature a roasted marshmallow and chocolate square sandwiched between two graham cracker halves. You can roast the marshmallows without fire, either indoors or in the back yard. An oven, toaster oven or grill easily stands in for the campfire, and you'll have no worries about lighting your marshmallow on fire.
Things You'll Need
- Baking pan
- Parchment
- Graham crackers
- Marshmallow
- Chocolate bar
- Foil
- Tongs
Indoor Delight
-
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
-
Place graham cracker halves on the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each cracker. Top the cracker with a marshmallow.
-
Bake the s'mores for four to five minutes, monitoring them the entire time. Remove the s'mores from the oven when the marshmallow begins to brown, but before it melts.
-
Place a square of chocolate on top of each marshmallow, then top with a second graham cracker half. Serve warm.
Grill Time
-
Lay out a square of aluminum foil for each s'more.
-
Place a graham cracker half in the center of each foil piece. Top with a marshmallow, chocolate square and the second half of the cracker. Wrap the foil around each assembled s'more.
-
Cook the s'more packets on a hot grill for four to five minutes. Remove the s'mores with tongs. Unwrap and serve.
