How do you make vanilla cookies?
Here is a basic recipe for making vanilla cookies:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
5. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
6. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and centers are set.
8. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
