What is a good cookie recipe?
Here's a simple and delicious chocolate chip cookie recipe:
Ingredients:
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or using a handheld mixer), beat the butter and granulated sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
4. Add Eggs One at a Time: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully combined after each addition.
5. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix. You should still see some streaks of flour.
6. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
7. Scoop and Bake: Drop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are just beginning to brown and the centers are set.
9. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookies!
