What is the texture of a stingray?
Stingrays have smooth skin covered with dermal denticles, which are small, modified scales that give the skin a slightly rough or sandpapery texture. The dermal denticles are arranged in a mosaic-like pattern and can be very fine or more pronounced, depending on the species of stingray. In some cases, the dermal denticles may feel like small bumps or ridges on the skin, while in others, they may be barely noticeable. Overall, the texture of a stingray's skin is smooth but not as soft or velvety as the skin of some other fish species.
