How to Make Maple Syrup Snow Candy (5 Steps)
Did you ever eat snow covered in maple syrup when you were a child? During the cold winter months, one of the greatest joys that a child can experience is that of eating snow that is topped with warm maple syrup. By following the steps below, you can help your child create memories and rituals that they will one day pass down to their children.
Things You'll Need
- Snow Maple syrup Saucepan Stove Spoon or Popsicle sticks
Instructions
-
Gather snow from outside. Make sure the snow you choose is clean and free of bugs, dirt and other items. If you aren't using it right away, place the snow in your freezer so it doesn't melt.
-
Add maple syrup to a saucepan and heat it on medium-high for 10 minutes. Stir the syrup constantly to make sure it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. (The syrup you use can be either store-bought or homemade.)
-
Remove the pan from the stove burner. Make sure to use a pot holder so you don't burn yourself.
-
Let the syrup cool for approximately 2 minutes before using it.
-
Pour syrup onto the snow. The snow candy can be eaten with a spoon or wooden Popsicle sticks, which can be purchased in the arts and crafts department at your local department store.
