How to Make Chocolate Candy With Liquor
For some candy lovers, chocolate isn't perfect unless it has liquor added to it. Liquor candies are easy to make; and if you make them at home, you can control what you put in them. It's also less expensive to make them at home, instead of buying them at an expensive gourmet store.
Things You'll Need
- Cocoa powder (good quality, such as Green and Blacks)
- Whipping cream
- Semi-sweet chocolate
- Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 tbsp. liquor
Instructions
-
Use a whisk to mix 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 3/4 cup whipping cream in a bowl.
-
Using a double boiler, slowly melt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate.
-
Take the chocolate off the heat. Stir in the cocoa power and whipping cream, along with 1 cup unsalted butter and 3 tbsp. liquor, such as Godiva or Bailey's, until evenly combined.
-
Refrigerate the mixture in an 8-inch cooking pan for about two hours or until hardened.
-
Use a melon baller to scoop out the chocolate into uniform truffles.
