How do you make a romain closseum cake?
Ingredients
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
* 1/4 cup vegetable oil
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 1 cup water
* 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the oil, eggs, and vanilla extract and mix until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the water. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips, if desired.
4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
5. Let the cake cool completely before serving.
To make the Roman Coliseum cake:
1. Cut the cake in half lengthwise.
2. Place one half of the cake on a serving platter.
3. Frost the top of the cake with chocolate frosting.
4. Place the other half of the cake on top of the frosting.
5. Frost the sides and top of the cake with chocolate frosting.
6. Use a piping bag to pipe rosettes of chocolate frosting around the base of the cake.
7. Decorate the top of the cake with chocolate chips, sprinkles, or other desired toppings.
8. Serve and enjoy!
