What does all spice consist of?
Allspice is actually not a blend of spices, but rather a single spice derived from the unripe berries of the Pimenta dioica tree.
The name "allspice" comes from the fact that its flavor is reminiscent of a combination of other spices, including:
* Cinnamon
* Nutmeg
* Cloves
So, when you use allspice, you're essentially getting the taste of several spices in one!
