Is ribbon coconut just regular coconut?
Ribbon coconut is not the same as regular coconut. Ribbon coconut is made from the outer flesh of a coconut, which has been sliced and steamed. This makes it easier to separate the individual strands of coconut, creating a ribbon-like texture. Regular coconut is made from the whole coconut, including the outer flesh, the inner flesh, and the coconut water. The outer flesh of regular coconut is not steamed and is therefore not as easy to separate into individual strands.
