How do you core a pineapple?

To core a pineapple, you will need a sharp chef’s knife and a cutting board.

1. Place the pineapple upside down on a cutting board. Then slice the top off about ¼ of the way down, leaving the bottom intact.

2. Flip the pineapple right-side up and slice off as much of the rind around the fruit as possible. Make sure you cut deep enough so that all the brown eyes are removed.

3. With the knife tip pointed down, insert it into the center of the pineapple. Cut around the core in a circular motion, pushing the knife toward the bottom.

4. Once the core is free, lift it up and out. Use a small paring knife to carefully remove any remaining core or eyes that were missed.

5. Rinse any juice from the pineapple and slice or cube as desired.
