How to Make Prime Rib Rub
Many red meat lovers will declare their appreciation for a juicy slice of prime rib coated in a tasty rub. Prepackaged meat rubs can be purchased at gourmet food and grocery stores and run the gamut in ingredients, including brandy and garlic and even coffee and brown sugar. Making a homemade rub can take a matter of minutes and adds a new dimension of flavor to your prime rib.
Things You'll Need
- 4-to-6-lb. prime rib roast
- 1 tsp. onion salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp. fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- Small bowl
- Spoon
Instructions

Combine all of the ingredients in the bowl.

Mix the ingredients so that the spices and oil are thoroughly combined.

Rub the mixture into your prime rib, taking care to cover the entire surface of the meat. Cook as directed.
