How to Mix Peanut Butter (4 Steps)
Natural or organic peanut butter typically contains just peanuts and salt. Without any additives to stabilize the consistency of the peanut butter, the peanuts and peanut oil will separate after the peanut butter sits for a while. This means you need to stir the peanut butter before serving. You can perform this task with a peanut butter mixer, which is a jar lid with a curved mixing rod on the underside of the lid and a handle on the upper side that turns.
Things You'll Need
- Peanut butter mixer or dinner knife
Instructions
-
Remove the lid from the peanut butter jar. Check to see if the lid is the same diameter as the peanut butter mixer. In order to use the mixer, it must be the same size as the jar's lid.
-
Screw the peanut butter mixer onto the peanut butter jar as you would a lid. As you put the mixer on the jar, the mixing rod will sink into the peanut butter.
-
Turn the handle on the mixer to stir the peanut butter. Stir until it reaches the desired consistency.
-
Insert a dinner knife into the peanut butter, and stir if you don't have a peanut butter mixer.
