How to Cut a Star Fruit (6 Steps)
Star fruit, typically grown in Thailand and parts of Southeast Asia, Australia, South America, Hawaii and Florida, is available in the winter months. The fruit has a high amount of Vitamin C, and only 30 calories. The fruit is also high in antioxidants and flavonoids. Cutting the star fruit and preparing it to eat does not require a lot of effort, but you must cut the fruit before you can eat it. Once you cut the fruit, you can store it in the refrigerator, or freeze it to enjoy later.

Select a ripe star fruit. Ripe star fruit have a bright yellow hue. They will have light tinges of green as well. When you squeeze the fruit, it will feel firm.

Rinse the star fruit off under cool water.

Place the star fruit vertically on a cutting board. Hold it in place, and use a sharp knife to cut off the dark tips of the star point ridges. Cut shallowly along the ridges to remove the brown edges.

Flip the star fruit over. Cut off the end of the star fruit. This will where the stem was previously located.

Slice the star fruit. Cut it into thin slices vertically so that each slice is in the shape of a star. You can make the slices as thick or thin as you like.

Use the tip of your knife to remove the seeds. They will be dark brown in color and resemble apple seeds.
