How to Bake or Broil Cauliflower (6 Steps)
Cauliflower is most often prepared steamed, but baked and broiled cauliflower is a delightful change from the usual. Baking and broiling cauliflower brings out its natural nutty flavors and creates a crisp texture. Season the cauliflower lightly for best results. Cauliflower is similar to broccoli, although its flavors are significantly milder. Treat cauliflower as you would broccoli when preparing it for baking and broiling.
Things You'll Need
- 1 bunch cauliflower
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
Instructions

Wash cauliflower thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the florets off of the stem and discard the stem.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Mix together olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add garlic and lemon juice, if using.

Toss cauliflower in olive oil mixture.

Spread the cauliflower into a rimmed baking sheet. Place it in the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until tender. Stir the cauliflower occasionally for even baking.

Turn your broiler on. Cook cauliflower under the broiler for three to five minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Serve warm.
