Why wont the dishwasher empty?

Here are a few reasons why your dishwasher might not empty properly:

- Blocked drain hose. Check the drain hose for kinks or clogs, and clean it out if necessary.

- Faulty drain pump. If the drain pump is not working properly, it will not be able to empty the water from the dishwasher.

- Defective pressure switch. The pressure switch senses the water level in the dishwasher, and if it is defective, it will not be able to tell the dishwasher when to stop emptying.

- Faulty control board. The control board is the brain of the dishwasher, and if it is defective, it will not be able to properly operate the other components of the dishwasher, including the drain pump and pressure switch.

- Something is blocking the water inlet. Make sure the water inlet valve is open and free of debris.

- The dishwasher is not getting enough water. Check the water pressure and make sure it is at least 20 psi.

- The drain hose is too long or too high. The drain hose should be no more than 8 feet long and no more than 2 feet above the floor.

- If the dishwasher is overloaded, the dishes can block the drain. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly so they don't interfere with the drain.
