How to Season Cuisinart Stainless Steel Pans (5 Steps)
Cuisinart stainless steel pans are well-known for possessing a cooking surface that heats evenly. This makes them popular among home chefs who demand consistency in their cookware. However, stainless steel pans lack the nonstick coating that helps reduce the reliance on cooking oil to prevent burning. A nonstick surface can be created in your Cuisinart pans by seasoning them with cooking oil.
Things You'll Need
- Dish detergent
- Towel
- Peanut oil
- Paper towels
Instructions
-
Wash the pan using hot, soapy water to remove any residue left over from the packaging process. Rinse thoroughly and then dry with a towel.
-
Add peanut oil in the pan to cover the surface. You can use your fingers to spread it across the bottom of the pan. Use peanut oil because of its high smoking point, which allows the oil to do the job of filling the pores in the steel completely, creating the nonstick surface.
-
Place the pan on the burner over medium heat until the oil begins to smoke.
-
Remove the pan from the burner and allow to cool.
-
Wipe the excess oil from the coated pan using the paper towels. The pan is now ready to use.
