How to Prep Paula Deen Pots & Pans
Paula Deen is known for her love of cooking, her fun personality, her delicious recipes and the amount of butter she uses in her recipes. Adding to the list of things she's known for is her line of pots and pans. Not only can you learn to cook like her, you can also use cookware designed by Deen. You can purchase her pots and pans right from her online store, or from other retailers in your area. Before you start cooking--whether the pots and pans are brand new or already broken in--you should first prep them properly.
Things You'll Need
- Mild dish detergent
- Sponge
- Soft cloth
- 4 tbsp. salt
- White vinegar
Instructions
-
Pour 2 to 3 drops of a mild dish detergent into the bottom of each pot and pan. This needs to be done to all new pots and pans before using.
-
Add a few tablespoons of water to each pot and pan.
-
Wipe out the inside and outside of the pots and pans to ensure there is no dust, dirt or debris covering the cookware. Air dry the pots and pans or use a soft cloth to dry them. For pots and pans that have been used and are difficult to clean, skip to Step 4.
-
Pour 2 to 3 drop of mild dish detergent into the pot or pan. Fill the bottom of the pot or pan with warm water, and allow the pot/pan to soak over night. If there are still stains or watermarks, continue to Step 5.
-
Pour 4 tbsp. of salt into the pot or pan. Add just enough white vinegar to the pot or pan to cover the bottom. Swirl the pot or pan in a circular motion to "wash" the cookware with the salt. Rinse the salt and vinegar out using warm water and mild dish detergent. The salt and vinegar will quickly remove any stains or burnt foods from the pots and pans safely.
