What are the differerent types of shots in carrom?

Straight Shot or Plain Shot

The plain or straight shot is done by hitting the striker to the farthest end of the board and bringing it straight to the target disc as it goes forward. The striker will hit the target puck while it is moving forward.

Cut Shot

In the cut shot, the striker is first made to hit the adjacent or nearby puck to the target disc and then made to hit the target disc with the side-on impact.

Defensive or Stop Shot

In this shot, the goal is to stop a moving puck from reaching a pocket. After the impact from the striker, the cue ball will come to a full stop.

Draw Shot

In this shot, the striker is softly shot, just enough to hit a puck and make it stop without entering the pocket. It is generally used to place a puck in a suitable place to pot it on the next turn.

Flick Shot

The flick shot is one where, upon impact, the striker will rotate on its axis and land close to the puck that has been hit.

Rebound Shot

A rebound shot is done when the striker bounces off the border line near a pocket and hits a puck, sending the puck into the pocket.
