What is a conditioned pan?
In classical conditioning, a conditioned stimulus (CS) is a neutral stimulus that, after becoming associated with an unconditioned stimulus (US), eventually triggers a conditioned response (CR).
Therefore, a conditioned pan refers to a pan that has been associated with food (the unconditioned stimulus) and has come to elicit a conditioned response, such as salivation, in the absence of food.
