How much baking powder do you add to make self raising flour?

Self raising flour already contains baking powder. You should not add any additional baking powder unless the recipe specifically calls for it.

If you do add baking powder to self raising flour, you may end up with a cake or bread that is too light and airy, or that has a bitter taste.
