How long until your chickens lay eggs?
It depends on the breed of chicken, but most hens begin laying eggs between 18 and 26 weeks of age. Some breeds, such as the Rhode Island Red, may start laying as early as 16 weeks, while others, such as the Sussex, may not start until they are 28 weeks old.
