Microwaving an egg to hard boil?

Caution: Microwaving an entire egg in its shell is not recommended because the shell can rupture, causing a messy explosion inside your microwave. Instead, follow the steps below:

Ingredients

- 1 large egg

- 1/2 cup (120 ml) of water

- Small glass or ramekin that can hold the egg and water without overflowing

- Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

1. Gently crack the egg into a small glass or ramekin that is microwave safe.

2. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) of cold water to the glass.

3. Optionally, add a pinch of salt for flavor.

4. Stir the water and egg gently with a fork to break the yolk and mix it with the white.

5. Place the glass in the microwave. Do not cover it.

6. Microwave on high power for 45 seconds.

7. Check on the egg. The white part should be set, but the yolk should still be runny.

8. Continue to microwave in increments of 15 seconds until the egg reaches your desired doneness.

9. Remove the glass from the microwave carefully, as it will be hot.

10. Let it cool for a minute before carefully draining the water from the glass and serving the hard boiled egg.

Note: Microwaving time can vary depending on your microwave's wattage and the size of the egg. Always start with shorter cooking times and adjust as needed to prevent overcooking.
