The 40 Hour Famine is a Catholic charitable event in which participants fast to raise money for those affected by hunger. During this time, participants are only permitted to consume minimal amounts of food, such as bread or crackers. Any amount of liquids, such as water, juice or tea is encouraged. Tea can also be taken with milk (but no sugar).
