Who invented sauerkraut?
The origins of sauerkraut are somewhat uncertain, but it is generally believed to have originated in China over 2,000 years ago. It then spread to Korea and Japan, and eventually made its way to Europe by the 16th century. It became particularly popular in Germany, where it became a staple food. Sauerkraut was brought to the Americas by German immigrants in the 18th century.
