What is the food of a plant?

Plants don't eat food in the same way animals do. Instead, they make their own food through a process called photosynthesis. Here's how it works:

1. Sunlight: Plants absorb energy from sunlight using a green pigment called chlorophyll.

2. Carbon Dioxide: They take in carbon dioxide from the air through tiny pores called stomata on their leaves.

3. Water: They absorb water from the soil through their roots.

4. Sugar: Using the energy from sunlight, plants combine carbon dioxide and water to create sugar (glucose). This sugar is their food, and it provides energy for growth and other processes.

5. Oxygen: As a byproduct of photosynthesis, plants release oxygen back into the air.

So, the food of a plant is the sugar (glucose) that it makes itself!
