Who invented fruit snacks?
The first commercial fruit snacks were invented in 1979 by the company General Mills. The product, called Fruit Roll-Ups, was made from a blend of fruit juices and sugar, and was rolled up into a thin sheet and then cut into strips. Fruit Roll-Ups were an instant success, and over the years, General Mills has expanded the line to include other flavors and shapes. Other companies have since introduced their own versions of fruit snacks, and the market for these products continues to grow.
