Does Himalayan salt contain less sodium than other salt?
Himalayan salt does not contain less sodium than other salt. Both Himalayan salt and regular table salt (sodium chloride) have similar sodium content per unit of weight. Himalayan salt typically contains around 98% sodium chloride, just like regular table salt. It may contain trace amounts of other minerals, but not enough to significantly alter its sodium content. Therefore, switching to Himalayan salt does not provide any meaningful reduction in sodium intake compared to regular table salt.
