How do you make egg salad?

Classic Egg Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

* 6 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and chopped

* 1/2 cup mayonnaise

* 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

* 1/4 cup chopped celery

* 1/4 cup chopped onion (optional)

* Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

* Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon curry powder

Instructions:

1. Hard-boil the eggs: Place eggs in a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then immediately remove from heat and cover the pot. Let stand for 10-12 minutes. Run cold water over the eggs to stop cooking and make them easier to peel.

2. Chop the eggs and other ingredients: Once the eggs are cool enough to handle, peel and chop them. Chop the celery and onion if using.

3. Combine ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped eggs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, onion (if using), salt, and pepper.

4. Mix and adjust flavors: Stir everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add any optional ingredients like chopped parsley, paprika, or curry powder.

5. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the egg salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve on bread, crackers, or lettuce leaves.

Tips:

* For a creamier egg salad, use a combination of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt.

* You can use different herbs and spices to add flavor to your egg salad. Try dill, chives, or tarragon.

* For a spicier egg salad, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce.

* If you are using leftover hard-boiled eggs, make sure they are completely cooled before chopping to prevent them from becoming mushy.

Enjoy!
