How does a salad spinner dry lettuce?
A salad spinner uses centrifugal force to remove excess water from lettuce and other leafy greens.
This process involves placing the lettuce in a perforated basket inserted inside the larger outer bowl. The basket contains slots that allow the water to drain away. Once placed inside the spinner, you start rotating it, either manually or with the help of a motorized mechanism. As you spin the salad spinner, the centrifugal force causes the water to move away from the lettuce and toward the outer edge of the bowl, where it collects.
You can repeat this spinning motion several times until most of the water is removed, leaving your lettuce dry and ready to use in salads, wraps, or other culinary creations.
