Who is the maker of mr potato head?

Mr. Potato Head was created by George Lerner in 1949. He was inspired by the popularity of plasticine at the time, and wanted to create a toy that would allow children to be creative and to make their own toys. He originally called it the "Mr. Spud Head" and sold it through a mail-order catalog. It became popular quickly, and in 1952 he introduced it to the market under its current name, Mr. Potato Head.
