How to Freeze Dips With Cream Cheese (4 Steps)
If you've made too much of a cream cheese-based dip for a party, you can freeze it to enjoy later. Although the quality of the frozen dip may not be as high as when it was fresh, you can safety store it for a few months. The higher the fat content in the dip, the better it will freeze. A full-fat cream cheese dip is less likely to separate and crumble after being frozen.
Things You'll Need
- Heavy cream
- Airtight plastic storage container
- Freezer tape
Instructions
-
Blend a bit of heavy cream into the cream cheese dip if it doesn't already contain it to help the dip retain its smooth texture.
-
Transfer the cream cheese dip to a plastic freezer-safe storage container with an airtight lid. Leave 1/2-inch head space to allow for expansion. Press the lid onto the container firmly to create a secure seal.
-
Write the storage date on a piece of freezer tape, and stick it onto the container to use as a reference.
-
Store the dip in a freezer set at 0 degrees F for up to two weeks.
