How to Make a Spritzer Salad Dressing (5 Steps)

Spritzing salad with a vinaigrette dressing allows you to tightly control how much dressing you put on a salad. It can also mean you don't have to toss the salad before serving because you can more evenly coat each leaf. While you may find spray bottles of salad dressing at the grocery store, you can make your own at home for less and with high-quality wine vinegar and top-of-the-line olive oil. You can use a standard spray bottle or buy an olive oil sprayer from a kitchen equipment store.

Things You'll Need

  • Red wine vinegar
  • Measuring cup
  • Spray bottle
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Measure 1 part of red wine vinegar into a spray bottle. Add a generous pinch of salt.

  2. Place your thumb over the top of the spray bottle and shake it vigorously for 30 seconds.

  3. Add 5 parts of olive oil to the vinegar mixture.

  4. Shake again for 30 seconds.

  5. Screw the spray nozzle back onto the bottle and spritz your salad.
