Things You'll Need
- Heavy cream
- Mixer or jar
- Bowl
- Strainer
- Spatula
Instructions

Pour the heavy cream into a mixing bowl or a jar (if a mixing bowl is not available).

Mix the cream with the whisk attachment on medium-high speed, or alternatively shake the jar with the heavy cream continuously.

Stop mixing or shaking when you see the butter starting to solidify and separate from the liquid.

Pour the contents into a strainer with a bowl under it, the liquid will be fresh buttermilk. Store the buttermilk in the refrigerator.

Rinse the butter with water to remove excess liquid, then put it in another bowl and knead it with the spatula, bringing the curds together. Add salt to flavor while kneading the butter.

Put the butter into a sealed container and store in the refrigerator.
