Can you use cream cheese instead of sour in a corn cassorole?
It is not advisable to substitute cream cheese for sour cream in a corn casserole recipe. Cream cheese is much thicker than sour cream and would alter the texture of the casserole, making it less creamy. Sour cream also provides a tangy flavor that complements the corn, whereas cream cheese would add a different, more savory flavor which may not be desirable in a corn casserole.
