Can you make Kraft Macaroni and Cheese without milk?
Ingredients
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 7 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Black pepper
- 1 (7.25 ounce) box Kraft Original Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese
Instructions
1.) Start by bringing 3 cups of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling add the Macaroni. Cook according to package instructions, strain and set aside.
2.) Melt the butter in a saucepan. Once the butter is melted, add the flour and cornstarch, whisking until combined. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the roux is light golden brown.
3.) Slowly whisk the 2 cups of chicken broth into the roux, whisking constantly until smooth.
4.) Bring to a simmer, and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes or until the sauce is thick and bubbly. Season with black pepper.
5.) Remove the sauce from the heat and add the cooked elbow macaroni. Stir until the macaroni is completely in the sauce.
6.) Transfer the macaroni and cheese into a baking dish then place it under a broiler for 1-2 minutes or until the top is hot, bubbly and golden brown.
