How to Heat Brie in the Microwave

Warm, soft brie is a treat in a league of its own. The heated cheese oozes onto toasted pieces of bread and slices of fruit like no other cheese can. You can melt brie in the microwave, but you must take special care not to heat it so high that the cheese separates and becomes oily. Depending the size of the piece of cheese and its ripeness, microwave times may vary. Its best to microwave the cheese in increments to avoid overheating.

Things You'll Need

  • Brie cheese
  • Microwave-safe plate

Instructions

  1. Slice off the top rind of the brie.

  2. Place brie on a microwave-safe plate.

  3. Heat the brie in the microwave on high for one minute. If the brie isn't softened and warm, microwave it for another 30 seconds.

  4. Reheat the brie for 20 seconds at a time if it cools and becomes tight.
