How to Bake Brie With Liquor
Brie, the creamy cow's milk cheese named for France's Brie region, makes an appetizing addition to anything from casual get-togethers to fancy dinner parties. Its light soft texture spreads easily onto breads and crackers, and its flavor pairs well with other food and drink. If you want to add a level of adult sophistication, bake your Brie with liquor -- usually brandy, cognac or bourbon -- to create a warm and tasty treat.
Things You'll Need
- Paring or sharp knife
- Oven-safe casserole dish with lid (large enough for the brie)
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden or metal spoon
- Brown sugar
Instructions
-
Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and unwrap the Brie from its packaging.
-
Cut the top rind off the brie with the paring knife and place the wheel of Brie exposed side up into the casserole dish.
-
Add 1 part liquor to 2 parts brown sugar into the mixing bowl and then stir with the spoon until you reach a thickened liquid consistency.
-
Pour the mix on top of the Brie and cover the casserole dish with the lid.
-
Place onto the center rack of the oven and bake for 15 minutes up to 45 minutes depending on desired consistency and gooeyness.
