How to Bake Brie With Liquor

Brie, the creamy cow's milk cheese named for France's Brie region, makes an appetizing addition to anything from casual get-togethers to fancy dinner parties. Its light soft texture spreads easily onto breads and crackers, and its flavor pairs well with other food and drink. If you want to add a level of adult sophistication, bake your Brie with liquor -- usually brandy, cognac or bourbon -- to create a warm and tasty treat.

Things You'll Need

  • Paring or sharp knife
  • Oven-safe casserole dish with lid (large enough for the brie)
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden or metal spoon
  • Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and unwrap the Brie from its packaging.

  2. Cut the top rind off the brie with the paring knife and place the wheel of Brie exposed side up into the casserole dish.

  3. Add 1 part liquor to 2 parts brown sugar into the mixing bowl and then stir with the spoon until you reach a thickened liquid consistency.

  4. Pour the mix on top of the Brie and cover the casserole dish with the lid.

  5. Place onto the center rack of the oven and bake for 15 minutes up to 45 minutes depending on desired consistency and gooeyness.
