How to Make Buffalo Wing Breading
There are times that after eating a delicious buffalo wings dish at a restaurant, you'll leave the place wondering how it was cooked so that you can make it at home. Most of the time the secret to buffalo wings is in the breading. If the breading is crunchy and tasty naturally the meat inside will get the same taste. Making the buffalo wing breading correctly so it tastes like the one in the restaurant is easy to do.
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. red pepper
- Bowls
- Chicken wings
- Deep fryer
- Colander
- Saucepan
- 1/4 cup butter
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- 1/4 cup hot sauce
- Serving plate
Instructions
-
Combine the all-purpose flour, salt, black and red pepper in a bowl. Set this aside.
-
Prepare the chicken wings. Make sure they are not frozen. Wash them properly and drain. Put the chicken wings in a large bowl or container.
-
Dust the breading into the bowl, until the chicken wings are evenly coated. Refrigerate the chicken for 1 hour and sprinkle another layer of breading. This will ensure that the breading and its flavor will stick on the chicken.
-
Deep fry the chicken wings in very hot oil, approximately 375 degrees F, for 7 to 10 minutes or until you can see that the color of the chicken has changed into dark or brown. It is better that the oil is an inch or two higher than the chicken, making the frying easy and balanced. Drain the chicken using a colander and set it aside.
-
Preheat a pan on low fire. Melt the butter. Add a dash of ground pepper, a dash of garlic powder and a pinch of salt to taste. Let it simmer. Add the chicken wings that you have fried earlier. Mix it properly. Add the hot sauce and let it set for 1 minute before turning off the stove. In this step keep the stove on low fire always.
-
Transfer the buffalo wings onto the serving plate and serve.
