What did the Aztecs eat for desserts?

There is no evidence to suggest that the Aztecs had anything comparable to modern desserts. Their diet consisted mainly of maize, beans, squash, and chili peppers. They did not have access to sugar, which was not introduced to Mexico until the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century.
