How many glasses of wine in a case?
There's no single answer to this question! Here's why:
* Case size: Cases of wine can come in different sizes. The most common is a "12-bottle case", but you can also find 6-bottle cases, magnums (1.5L bottles), and even larger formats.
* Glass size: A "glass of wine" can vary wildly depending on the glass size. A standard wine glass holds about 5 ounces, but some glasses are much smaller or larger.
To figure out how many glasses are in a case, you need to know:
1. How many bottles are in the case?
2. How much wine is in each bottle? (Most are 750mL)
3. What size glass are you using?
Here's a simple example:
* Case: 12 bottles
* Bottle size: 750mL (standard)
* Glass size: 5 ounces
Calculation:
1. Total wine: 12 bottles * 750mL/bottle = 9000mL
2. Ounces per bottle: 750mL * 0.033814 oz/mL = 25.36 ounces
3. Glasses per bottle: 25.36 ounces / 5 ounces/glass = 5.07 glasses
4. Total glasses: 5.07 glasses/bottle * 12 bottles = 60.84 glasses
Therefore, in this example, a 12-bottle case of wine would yield roughly 61 glasses.
