How do you get a ten-year old orange soda stain out of an oriental wool carpet?
1. Blot up the stain as soon as possible. Do not rub it, as this can spread the stain and make it more difficult to remove.
2. Identify the type of stain. Orange soda is a sugar-based stain, so you will need to use a cleaning solution that is specifically designed for sugar stains.
3. Test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the carpet. This will help you to make sure that the solution does not damage the carpet.
4. Apply the cleaning solution to the stain. Work from the outside of the stain inward, and use a soft cloth to blot the solution into the carpet.
5. Rinse the area with water. Use a clean, damp cloth to rinse the area until the cleaning solution has been removed.
6. Blot the area dry. Use a clean, dry cloth to blot the area until it is dry to the touch.
7. If the stain persists, repeat steps 3-6. You may need to try a different cleaning solution or method if the stain does not come out after the first attempt.
8. Once the stain is removed, vacuum the carpet. This will help to remove any residual cleaning solution or dirt.
* You can also use the following solution to remove the stain:
* Mix 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 1/2 cup of water.
* Apply the solution to the stain and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
* Blot the stain with a clean, dry cloth.
* Rinse the area with water and blot dry.
* If the stain persists, you may need to have the carpet professionally cleaned.
