What is blend whisky?
Blend whisky is a type of whisky produced by blending two or more different types of whisky. There are two main types of blend whisky: blended malt whisky and blended grain whisky.
Blended malt whisky is a blend of two or more single malt whiskies. Single malt whiskies are made from 100% malted barley.
Blended grain whisky is a blend of two or more whiskies made from non-malted grains, such as corn, wheat, or rye. It often includes a small amount of malt whisky, usually less than 5%.
The final flavor of a blend whisky is determined by the type and proportion of different whiskies used in the blend and by the age of the blend. Some blended whiskies are bottled after a few years of aging, while others are aged for 10 years or more.
