How to make a hot whiskey?
To make a classic, warming Hot Whiskey:
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Irish whiskey
- 6 ounces boiling water
- 2 teaspoons honey or brown sugar
- Juice from 1/2 lemon
- 1 cinnamon stick, for garnish
- 2 whole cloves, for garnish
- Lemon zest for garnish
Instructions:
1. Heat the water: Bring 6 ounces of water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
2. Add honey or brown sugar and lemon juice: Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of honey or brown sugar and the juice of half a lemon. Stir until dissolved.
3. Add whiskey: Pour 2 ounces of Irish whiskey into a heatproof glass or Irish coffee mug.
4. Pour hot water mixture: Slowly pour the hot water mixture over the whiskey, stirring gently to combine.
5. Garnish: Place a cinnamon stick, 2 cloves, and a twist of lemon zest on top of the drink for an aromatic touch.
6. Serve and enjoy: Your hot whiskey is now ready. Sip and relish its comforting warmth!
