When did most of the name brand sodas start using high fructose corn syrup because it seems like they all do now even Dr Pepper?

In the 1980s, spurred in part by government policies supporting the use of corn, many soft drink manufacturers switched to using high-fructose corn syrup as a sweetener, notably Coca-Cola when they quietly altered the formula of their namesake product in 1985, and PepsiCo followed two months later.
