How does starfish care for its young?

Sea stars, also known as starfish, do not provide any parental care for their young. Instead, they release their eggs and sperm into the water, where fertilization takes place. The fertilized eggs develop into free-swimming larvae, which eventually settle down and transform into juvenile sea stars.
