What to do if gravel is stuck in your goldfishes mouth?

Do not attempt this method if your fish is small or if the gravel is large.

Remove Gravel From A Goldfish's Mouth

1. Prepare a shallow bowl of clean, dechlorinated water. Be sure the bowl is large enough for the goldfish to swim comfortably.

2. Scoop your goldfish into the bowl. Be sure to support the goldfish's body and gently net it so as not to hurt it.

3. Gently hold your goldfish's mouth open. You can do this by using your fingers to gently pry open the mouth or by using a pair of tweezers or hemostats.

4. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently remove the gravel. Be careful not to brush too hard, as this could injure the goldfish.

5. Rinse your goldfish's mouth with the clean water. This will help to remove any remaining gravel.

6. Release the goldfish back into its tank. Be sure to monitor your goldfish for any signs of distress. If the goldfish is still acting strangely, you may need to take it to a veterinarian.

Here are some additional tips:

* If the gravel is too deep in the goldfish's mouth, you may need to use a pair of tweezers to remove it.

* Be careful not to poke the goldfish's eye with the tweezers.

* If you cannot remove the gravel from your goldfish's mouth, you may need to take it to a veterinarian.

Preventative tips

* Only feed your goldfish gravel-free food.

* Keep the tank clean and free of debris.

* Avoid using gravel that is too large for the goldfish to swallow.
