How do you grill skewers?

### Grilling Skewers

Grilling Skewers are popular for BBQs, cookouts, tailgates and more. Here is how you grill skewers:

1. Prepare your skewers.

- Soak your skewers for 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill.

2. Prepare the Ingredients

- Cut veggies, meats, and seafood.

- Meats: Cut proteins into 1/2 - 3/4 inch cubes.

- Veggies: Cut veggies into manageable chunks. Softer veggies like tomatoes can be skewered whole.

- Seafood: Cut seafood into bite sized pieces and devein shrimp.

- Fruit skewer whole or cut in pieces.

3. Skewer the ingredients.

- Using wet hands, thread food pieces onto skewers.

- Alternate the food on the skewer between meat, vegetables and fruit.

4. Season.

- Brush skewers with olive oil. Then season meat, veggies with spices, herbs, salt and pepper or a store bought marinade. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

5. Preheat Grill

- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If you have a gas grill, turn all the burners to medium-high and close the lid. If you have a charcoal grill, light the coals and let them burn until they are hot and ashy.

6. Grill the skewers.

- Place skewers on the grill.

- Grill for 8-10 minutes, turning once halfway through.

7. Test for doneness.

- Meat skewers should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165° F.

- Seafood and vegetable skewers should be cooked until they are tender.

8. Serve.

- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them cool for a few minutes.

- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
