What kind of fish can you keep in a bowl?

It's not recommended to keep any fish in a bowl. Here's why:

* Limited space: Bowls lack the necessary space for fish to swim freely and thrive.

* Poor water quality: Small water volumes make it difficult to maintain stable water parameters like temperature, pH, and oxygen levels.

* No filtration: Bowls generally don't have filtration systems, leading to polluted water.

* Stressful environment: The lack of space and poor water quality can cause stress and illness in fish.

Instead of bowls, consider aquariums with:

* Appropriate size: A good rule of thumb is 1 gallon of water per inch of fish.

* Filtration system: Essential for maintaining clean water.

* Heating system: To keep the water at the right temperature.

* Suitable decorations: To provide hiding places and enrichment for the fish.

If you are set on keeping a fish in a bowl, the only suitable option is a goldfish, but even then it's not ideal. Goldfish are particularly hardy, but they still require a minimum of 10 gallons of water and proper filtration.

Remember, fish deserve a healthy and spacious environment, so please choose a well-equipped aquarium for your pet fish.
