If your fish is whiting small in 350 degrees and a conventional oven how long should you cook fish?
It's impossible to give you an exact cooking time for your fish without knowing:
* The thickness of the fish fillets: Thicker fillets will take longer to cook than thinner ones.
* The type of fish: Some fish cook faster than others.
* How you want the fish cooked: Do you want it cooked through or just slightly pink in the center?
Here's a general guide for baking fish in a 350°F oven:
* Thin fillets (less than ½ inch thick): 8-10 minutes
* Medium fillets (½ - 1 inch thick): 12-15 minutes
* Thick fillets (more than 1 inch thick): 15-20 minutes
To determine if your fish is cooked:
* Use a meat thermometer: Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the fish. It should register 145°F.
* Check the flesh: The fish should be opaque and flake easily with a fork.
Important tips:
* Preheat your oven: This ensures even cooking.
* Grease the baking dish: This helps prevent the fish from sticking.
* Don't overcook the fish: Overcooked fish will be dry and tough.
* Serve immediately: Fish is best enjoyed fresh.
Always check the fish for doneness using the methods above, as cooking times can vary depending on your fish and oven.
